Wear
In general, logowear should be worn according to the guidelines set forth in
the human resources manual, available on the Venture Bank intranet by clicking
on the "Policy/Procedure" Shortcut (or by looking in the "Training" section).
Specifications:
- Jackets are not acceptable as business wear, except for certain Level III employees.
- Sport shirts (polo-style pullover shirts) are not considered dress clothing,
but can be worn on Casual Business Dress Days (Fridays).
- Certain other items the mock turtleneck, the ladies' scoop neck and v-neck
t-shirts, and the ladies' split-placket sport shirt (the ladies' polo with the
white collar) are not considered dress clothing on their own, but can be worn
under another item as part of a dress ensemble (for example, with a sweater or
suit jacket). When not part of an ensemble, these items are acceptable only on
Casual Business Dress Days.
- Two color/style combinations are restricted: the tropical pink color, which is
listed as available for the ladies' split-placket sport shirt, and the heather
grey scoop neck t-shirt. Technical requirements prevent these choices from being
removed from the catalog, but they are not considered appropriate for business
wear. If you order one of these items, you will be asked to choose something else.
- All other items are considered acceptable for normal business, when worn appropriately.
- If you have further questions about what is appropriate for your department,
check with your supervisor.
Ordering
When you place an order, it goes to three different places:
- The Marketing Department. When you send your order, you are asked to provide
an e-mail address. If you give your correct Venture Bank address, the Marketing
mailbox automatically responds by sending an e-mail to that address. If you enter
an outside address, the process is not automated, and it may take a day or two
for you to receive an acknowledgement.
- Budd Bay Embroidery. Budd Bay Embroidery gathers several orders before processing
them. It will usually take one to three weeks for you to receive your order.
- Accounting. Accounting generates an invoice from your order, including any applicable
clothing allowance and discounts. You will receive the invoice within two weeks
of when you place your order. Payment can be made with Venture Bank bucks or a
check, or by authorizing a debit from your account. Send payments and authorizations
to Accounting.
How Much Do I Owe?
Accounting will figure out how much you owe, but if you want to know before you
receive the invoice, follow these steps:
- Add the prices of workwear items you've ordered.
- If a clothing allowance has been made available, subtract that amount from the
total price of workwear you've ordered. If your workwear purchases total less
than the amount of your clothing allowance, any remaining allowance becomes null
and void. The clothing allowance must be used by a specified deadline (see below).
- Add the price of any non-workwear items (jackets) you've ordered.
- If you attended the most recent All-Staff meeting, subtract 20% from any remaining
amount. This discount also has a deadline (see below).
Deadlines
Twice per year, a clothing allowance is given to every employee. The current
amount of this allowance is $30, and you receive it after the first and third
quarters of the year, in association with the All-Staff meetings for that quarter.
The allowance and any discounts expire at the end of the month following the month
of the All-Staff meeting.
For example, the All-Staff meeting for the first quarter of 2006 was held at
the end of April. Your clothing allowance expires on May 31, 2006, as does the discount you receive if you attended the All-Staff meeting.
Care
- When the clothing arrives, it may be dusty or have marks from the embroidery
process. Washing should remove these.
- Certain items, notably the stretch poplin shirts, attract and hold wrinkles,
so may need extra attention.
- Some of the darker shirts may fade when initially or repeatedly washed.
- Be careful not to use chlorine bleach on the white shirts. Bleach is not selective
and it will bleach the logo as well.
Neither the Marketing department or Budd Bay Embroidery can be held responsible
if you do not give proper care to your new garments.
Exchanges
Apparel can be exchanged if any of these circumstances is true:
- The item was damaged when you received it.
- It has an incorrect logo, a missing logo, or a logo in the wrong place.
- You need a different size.
If the item has an incorrect logo or was damaged before reaching you, that item
will be replaced with an item of the same style, color, and size, with the correct
logo. In the case of a size exchange, the item will be the same color and style
as the original.
Follow these guidelines to receive a replacement:
- If you have any questions (such as whether you have a correct logo or not), ask
Marketing.
- The item you return must be in good condition (except for any damage received
before it reached you).
- The item must arrive in the Marketing office within two weeks of when you received
it.
- Include a note with your return, explaining the issue that caused you to want
a replacement.
- Remember to include your name and extension with your returned item.
A replacement will usually take between one and three weeks to arrive.
Other Logo Items
Miscellaneous logo items, such as coffee mugs and pens, as well as hats and aprons,
can be ordered through the Venture Bank intranet.
It is also possible to have a logo placed on other items, such as a shirt not
offered through the on-line catalog. If you'd like to have the Venture Bank or
Venture Wealth Management logo placed on a personal item, please contact the Marketing
department for details. Because the logos are important parts of Venture Bank's
brand identity, the Marketing department must approve the placement of logos on
any non-standard items.
