WHALER APPAREL NOW AVAILABLE!
Whaler Football. Whaler Football on turf. Thanks to Cathy Parker, that's about to become a reality. Parker, a Florida mother of three sons who play high school football, watched an ESPN special with her 11-year-old daughter about a football team that practiced on gravel and rocks. It struck an emotional chord. Parker has spearheaded the efforts to supply the nation's first Arctic high school football team with artificial turf. She has raised more than $350,00 and a portion of Whaler Football Apparel sales will go to this cause. Over spring break, the Whaler Football came to Jacksonville and practiced with perennial high school powers Bartram Trail and The Bolles School. The Whaler coaching staff received some tips from legendary high school coach Corky Rogers and saw the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was just a few months ago when Cathy Parker was moved to tears. "I don't know why it touched me like it did, but I just remember thinking, 'Oh, my gosh,'. It was so moving. You could see the parents, you could see the kids," Parker said. "I know how hard my boys work at football. They don't have a lot of free time, they don't get in any trouble. You could just see that football was going to make a difference for this town."
